Frequently asked questions

How is hyaluronic acid different from a steroid injection?

Steroid injections reduce inflammation quickly but the effect typically lasts 6–12 weeks. Hyaluronic acid lubricates and protects the joint, with benefit often lasting 6–12 months.

What is Arthrosamid®?

Arthrosamid® is a non-biodegradable hydrogel injected into the knee. A single injection can give years of pain relief for suitable patients with knee osteoarthritis.

How soon will I feel better?

Most patients notice improvement within 2–6 weeks. We'll review you at 6 weeks to assess response.

Are there side effects?

Mild soreness or swelling for 24–48 hours is common. Serious side effects are rare. We'll discuss everything in detail at your consultation.
