Frequently asked questions

How long does a steroid injection last?

It varies by condition, but most patients get 6 weeks to 6 months of meaningful relief. We use that window to rehab the area and reduce recurrence.

Is it safe to have repeated steroid injections?

Yes, within sensible limits. We won't recommend more than 3 injections per joint per year, and we always look at why the problem keeps returning.

Are there side effects?

Temporary post-injection soreness for 24–48 hours is common. Serious side effects are rare and we'll discuss them in full at your consultation.

Can I drive home afterwards?

Yes — there is no sedation involved. You can drive, work and continue normal light activities the same day.
